BBS Releases Q1 2017 CE Audit Results

Did you know that in 2016 the BBS resumed random continuing education (CE) audits?  They randomly select a number of renewing licensees and confirm whether they have met all CE requirements.  If you fail a CE audit you can receive a citation and a fine. In the most recent audit 28% of LCSWs and 25% of LMFts failed (Page 8 of Fall 2017 Newsletter).  How do you fail a CE audit?  According to the BBS the top reasons are:

  • Failure to complete the required law and ethics coursework.
  • Failure to complete the required number of CE units within the renewal period.
  • Completing CE courses from unapproved providers.

In several months we will be launching a new site, TrackYourCEUs.  Our mission is to help make your compliance with the CEU requirements as simple as possible.  We are designing the site to address the three issues listed above.  Learn More
